If the meter is active (its needle is turning) it probably means there is a water leak in your interior. In case the needle is stopped with all the taps closed, the meter should be examined in workshop by EYDAP (Athens Water Company) to insure the proper operation of the meter. Water should not be taken for granted. Its lack is one of the most critical problems faced by humanity. It is a public good that nature seems to be giving us in fewer quantities, so we need to use it properly and limit its waste. The water saving margins are big and we are all encouraged to practice the following suggestions to ensure the best possible use of the last drop.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediately replace the dripping taps.<\/li>\n<li>Check and repair any faults in the valves and throughout the installation of our home.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the water flush tank, the float and cisterns that are connected to our installation for damage.<\/li>\n<li>Wash the fruits and vegetables in a bowl, using the same water and for watering the flowers.<\/li>\n<li>Select electrical appliances that belong to a high water saving class.<\/li>\n<li>Only use washing machines and dishwashers when they are full, adjusting them to the most economical program.<\/li>\n<li>Prefer the shower instead of the full bath.<\/li>\n<li>Set the float in the toilet flush at the lowest possible point.<\/li>\n<li>Brush our teeth with the tap closed during brushing.<\/li>\n<li>When shaving, do not allow the tap to run and use some water in a suitable container.<\/li>\n<li>Clean your balconies and outside areas with a bucket and a mop rather than a hose.<\/li>\n<li>Wash your car infrequently, using bucket and sponge.<\/li>\n<li>Urge and advise children not to play with water and taps in the yard.<\/li>\n<li>Water flowers and plants with a sprinkler, early in the morning or late afternoon, when evaporation is limited.<\/li>\n<li>Replace the shower phone with some other lower flow.
