The main sources of water are 30 drillings as well as the desalination plant of the community of Naoussa. <span class='av_dropcap1 av-av_dropcap1-3cd9da5fea0ef5fb27aee617571c39a3'>A<\/span>fter pumping, the water is stored in suitable tanks to stabilize the pressure and balance the consumption flow. Thereafter, water is distributed to consumers through an internal distribution network grid. The total length of the main water transport network along with the distribution network across the island exceeds 200 km and is mainly made of PVC but also small portions of asbestos pipes and tubes from older networks inherited by DEYAP from the Communities. Purpose of DEYAP is to replace them with PVC or PE.<\/p>\n<p><span class='av_dropcap1 av-av_dropcap1-3cd9da5fea0ef5fb27aee617571c39a3'>P<\/span>aros DEYA is equipped with modern facilities for water treatment and disinfection. Emergencies and unexpected situations (damage, leaks, power outages, etc.) that occur especially during the summer months are treated by the above mechanism with absolute success so as to minimize the
